They don't clean the rooms. In a week's time, they 've only vacuumed once. Now just to be honest, I've noticed it was the same lady staff that was skipping work, she was constantly on her phone, running the vaccum cleaner in vain, while chatting or whatever over her phone.The beds were badly made, all the surfaces weren't wiped, ever. Other staff were really helpful and extremely friendly.Place has lots of potential.TRAIN your STAFF
There were stairs in our room... Which I believe could be a massive liability. Using the bathroom in the middle of the night when most people are not fully awake could cause severe injury. Half of the outlets in the room did not work either. Best part was the water pressure and the ac.
Ok for the price. Overall it was good. Old stained carpets, odd smelling rooms. Cold breakfast items in a small corner. Does the job though. Had to return after an hour of checking out to get the bottle of gin I forgot in fridge. They didn't know anything about it until I pushed to find the house keeper.....to find the bottle on her cart. Hmmm. Figures.
Friendly staff at the front desk. Great location to the university as well as most of the city. A ton of shopping options and dining within walking distance. It's an older hotel but clean. No issues here other than the rooms not being equipped with a fridge. That always comes in handy on our travels.
Check in was slow and the carpets were very dirty. There was a smell in the air that was stale and off putting. It was a two night stay and the ice machine was not working either night. After frustration kicked in, I went to the store and bought a bag of ice. There was a breakfast in the morning with waffles.....but no syrup. The hotel was warm and clammy. The rooms were equally smelly compared to the rest of the hotel. After lifting my mattress I discovered a used washcloth with stains and a pubic hair. I won't be returning to Days Inn in Guelph.
