We got sandwiches catered for a birthday party. The order was on time and as requested, and we got a lot of comments about how great everything tasted!
Wow is all I have to say! We were told to check out the Ruben sandwich here. I phoned ahead to be sure not only a special day sandwich. They were glad we had heard and said it was available every day. Arrived about 11 on a Wednesday. Three fantastically friendly ladies in the kitchen. Went with my mom, who is in her 80s and announced we were having the Ruben’s. They immediately asked if we had called. Wonderful welcome! Had a seat at a table. There are around 6-7 tables. Most patrons were doing takeout and it was immediately busy. Good sign we are thinking! Sandwich arrived. Served on a real plate no plastics here lol. Awesome Ruben. Loaded with meat, homemade marble rye, perfect balance of sauerkraut and sauce just the correct amount of spicing. The deli gets busy so come early or for a late lunch. If you don’t, don’t fret, they move fast! Upon completion they expedited my mom in her 80s to pay, as mom wouldn’t let me lol!! They navigated her to the POS system and helped her with the system even though they were busy. That’s service with more than a smile. Gave mom two cookies to go … can’t promise that during your visit but mom will be back with her girlfriends now. So awesome sandwich, clean deli with extra special staff. Congrats Old Fashioned Deli!! BTW super convenient for truckers, workers and travelers, as it is just off the highway with tons of parking
Quaint little deli - exactly what I was looking for! Had Montreal smoked meat on marbled rye. Meat was chewier than I’ve had at other places, but that’s not a complaint - it was delicious. They threw in a cookie for desert! I’ll go back anytime I am in the area!
Old Fashioned Deli went above and beyond to meet a request. The owner took it upon herself to deliver soup, sandwiches and desserts to a family who had just lost a loved one. The family was so thankful and really enjoyed the meal. Thank you, Old Fashioned Del!!
Initial impression was not good. A bit sketchy looking and one staff was vacuuming while I waited for her to finish while other staff was on the phone. Otherwise the sandwich was quite good and the price was ok.
This place is the best. Great soups; at least three choices and soup menu seems to rotate often enough. The sandwiches are great too They have a ham-havarti or beef-provolone I always get. Can I get that cheese at Mr. Sub or Subway? I think not. Always the freshest veggies and melt-in-your-mouth bread. I have no problem with cold criticism when something sucks - not this place. Actually, they could be open more often. But hey, there's more to life than serving me soup and sandwiches.
Somewhat expensive in my opinion for what I received, but the sandwich was nice.
Love the fresh tasting soups and sandwiches. My favourite soup is the Cream of Tomato topped with some of their delicious croutons. The multigrain bread is my favourite....thick cut and moist which complements the sandwiches really well. Service is always fast and friendly. A musy try!
Super yummy sandwiches and soups. Great selection and the desert shop is so yummy plus very affordable prices!
