The staff always very nice and helpful. The store itself is difficult to want to go to. The light are somehow too bright and blue-toned to be any sort of enjoyable (there’s new studies coming out on blue bright fluorescents activating the nervous system actually!) but more offensive is the high-pitched buzzing that assaults the ears as soon as you walk in. This noise is awful and is not effectively covered by the radio in the corner of the store. Genuinely I get a headache from how it sounds in there and makes me want to leave as soon as I can. I feel bad for the cats that live in there that have to listen to it day & night. Also, I can imagine it’s awful for people with hearing aids or anyone with good (sensitive) ears. I’d spend much more time in there if I could ignore the high pitched noises. Thanks!
About 10 years ago we got a catnip and lentil filled fabric “mouse” for my cats. 5 years ago we got a German Shepard. He LOVES the mouse! He nibbles on them when he’s happy and excited! They’re his favourite toy! Was so happy to go back yesterday and see they still had them!
Was disappointed to learn they don't do refunds of food unless the bag is still sealed, only in-store credit. The other option is, if you purchase something (minimum $20), they will refund the difference. Just keep it mind if you're buying for a fussy eater. Other than that I do like Pet Valu stores.
Specifically a review for the dog wash. The staff is always friendly and helpful. No issue there. This was our first time using the self serve dog wash ($15) and we were unfortunately underwhelmed. Washing our pup was easy enough... The actual head of the hose was a little worse for wear but not terrible. I would avoid the air dry blower though. Not only would the hose continually come out the wall when it was on (my wife had to hold it on) but the blowing end was loose as well having to be reattached throughout. The air is freezing cold which we didn't realize until our dog was cowering and shaking. This was our first time using this wash and we assumed (wrongly) that the air would at least be warm. It's definitely not. Not sure if that is normal there, or something was broken. Overall we liked that we could wash our dog at standing level, but cannot recommend using the air dryer. $15 seems steep as well. Unless our dog is extremely dirty, we will probably continue to wash him at home.
The staff are warm, friendly, informative, and truly care to give you the best products for your pets needs. M9st importantly they love pets. This is my only go-to pet store. I highly recommend Pet Valu for all of your pets from kibble, Raw, toys, and natural chews and all other amazing products. Pets from A-Z (not Zebras, of course), they've got it! If there's something you need that the store doesn't stock, ask an associate to speak to the owner, and he will look into meeting your request!

One of the things I love about this store is their great hours, making it easy for me to shop for my pet's needs at any time. They always have everything I need, from food and toys to grooming supplies. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing excellent customer service. Wife and i walk in no hello no greeting from staff and my wife and i were walking around for 10 min looking for our dog food no one asked us if we needed help, plus they didn't even carry our dogs food there
