The patio here is fantastic. The brewery is not necessarily located in the best spot and is somewhat awkward to park, but they've done a great job creating a cozy space that transports you a bit. There was plenty of fun / cozy seating options available as well as some games that kept our 2.5 year old busy while we enjoyed a flight on a sunny day. Service was fast and relatively friendly, and I like that they gave us the freedom to pay after we were finished (vs. having to pay for each beer or flight up front). This would have been 5-stars but honestly I wasn't a huge fan of any of the 4 beers we tried... which is obviously one of the key reasons you go. They weren't bad by any means -- they just tasted a bit bland compared to all of the other craft beers I've had as of late.
Great pizza Awesome oysters Amazing to see Jim Cuddy play there for a yearly gig! Trivia always good n busy, arrive early They do great job at having something going on almost every day of the week.
Love this place! You can bring your dog - they're very welcome in the brewery bar at the back - try a flight of top-notch craft beers (or have a Hat-Trick, my fave), order what looks like amazing pizza. Love the beer, the people, the dogs - the free popcorn popped with hop residue and tasting faintly bitter, nutty and with just a hint of salt. Good Sunday afternoon vibes -
Wow so impressed. I order beer from all across Ontario and I have never gotten beer this fast, and yes it tasted delicious. Not to mention the names of the beer are great (Boraccia Italian Lager which means Water Bottle in Italian) goes great with the background of their beers. Will definitely order again, and would recommend to anyone looking for a great locally made brew Great job guys!
Out railfanning (train watching) with my son today. Always looking for local craft brews to share with my Pint Pipe & Cross mates. Spotted Fixed Gear and it drew me in. I'm a stout guy, so I picked up Red Hook - FANTASTIC!!! Thought I would pick up a few hoppy beverages for the mates and settled on Breakaway - also FANTASTIC. That says a lot, considering I'm a guy who "usually" only tips stouts and porters. Looking forward to more Railfanning in Guelph. Dominus Vobiscum Allan - BatGuy.org
Really impressive how Fixed Gear has developed. I first attended soon after opening a couple years ago and really wanted more from the beer as nothing stood out. Visit over visit, year over year they’ve really got it down now. Mix that in with one of the coolest patio’s in Guelph you get a delightful experience every time. Keep it up FGB!
YES!!! This place was fantastic. Tucked away from the down town busy Guelph core. TONS of parking & in a great little neighbourhood! The patio is was extremely cute & honestly had so much room to sit; lots of shaded areas or tables with umbrellas. The lady who served us was extremely kind & she was doing it all by herself. She was courteous & not stressed, at least not on the outside. We all enjoyed the brews we tried, quite a few to choose from too. They are pet friendly & have dog bowls around with water. We were all rather impressed!
