Overall terrible experience with Dave Merkley Roofing. About the only thing they did well, was instal a new roof the next day after I said we would use their services. Problem was he never discussed anything with me before hand. We needed extra work done, and when I came home from work the roof was done. Couple years later large chunks of shingles were flying off the roof and water was coming in. After many attempts to contact them they finally went up to address the issue. But not after verbally abusing me over the phone first. It seems they only took care of the issue after we launched a complaint with the bbb. I think the funniest part of the whole thing was when we asked the first time to have someone look at the roof, he came by and left me a quote for a new roof!! Jokes!!All in all if you want your job done poorly, and hope to replace his work within 10 years, definitely put your money on Dave Merkly. If you want it done right, the first time, go anywhere else.
I wish there was a less than 1 star. I had this company redo the roof of my house, and while the roofers were pleasant enough, I found them playing with my dog, sitting in my lawn chairs under my trees, or in their truck, the job could have been done in 2 days (or less) but took 3. The mess left around my house and damage done to my gardens, were TOTALLY unacceptable. I am still picking up cigarette butts throughout my yard, I have found 13 roofing nails in my grass and gardens. With Kids and with a dog running around it isn't the most comforting thing knowing that they might step on one. I would never had them come back, nor would I recommend them to anyone. A very unsatisfied customer.
We've used Dave several times and it's always a great experience. The workers are fast and friendly and the properties are always clean when they're finished. Would recommend.
Following our recent high wind storm I called the company and Dave said they were extremely busy with a high volume of calls with damaged roofs. No promises but it could be over a week before they could get to me. Well I just wanted to take the time to inform you that your staff were here this morning which was a very pleasant surprise since you had so many calls to service. The three guys were terrific and got the job done without any delay and were very professional and pleasant to talk with. They were up onto the roof very quickly and without delay assessed the damage and repaired in it very short order.I think it's important to comment on a job well done in today's world. People sometimes are very quick to jump on the criticism bandwagon and equally as quick to forget compliments and appreciation when a job is well done. I know you said it could be next week before you got to my situation of ripped off tiles in the windstorm because of the high call volume but you got your staff here speedily this week. So you and your staff deserve a great round of thank you's and appreciation for getting the job done so quickly and efficiently.I would not hesitate in recommending you and your company to anybody in the future.Thank You,Keith McIntyre
So I go online this morning in search of a roofing company to come and fix some shingles the high winds damaged yesterday. I find many results and decide to call Dave first, since the website was well organized, BBB accredited and I got a good sense of professionalism about the company. Well, my good sense faded quickly when Dave called me back and said that they are very busy, since calls have been coming in all morning. OK. I understand that. It's the next thing he said that got me. He asked me how old my roof was. I told him it was 3 years old, to which he replied, well, I'm too busy, sorry. I never asked for him to come right away! Therefore this lead me to believe that he was after the bigger jobs, and rejected anything else. Since my roof is only 3 years old, there is no way that the whole roof would need to be redone, therefore I was rejected. Most likely if my roof was 10 years old or older, he would consider the job, since there would be a chance that he could convince me to get the whole roof redone. My opinion is that this company is money hungry and does not treat all customers the same way.
