We've had JayTech come out for a few small jobs now, and they're always efficient and tidy. Their work is neat and if they need to do something slightly unusual, they will point it out and explain why and how they have done the job. They were willing to interrupt their busy schedule to 'triage' a leak in our hall ceiling, and even though it did not turn out to be urgent, they were able to add us to their schedule with less than a week's delay. I have no doubt that if the leak HAD been urgent, they'd have attended to it right away.Put these guys on your speed dial under plumber, you won't regret it.
In early April 2018 our home had a blocked drain leading from 2 main floor bathrooms and I called an established uniformed company who arrived promply and stated we had a blockage at 32 Feet in an area under our basement floor. They cleared it enough that our toilets flushed but commented that it would backup again and would need the basement cleared down to the concrete floor, broken up and a new pipe installed. The cost would be $6,000 to $9,000 if I had the complete basement cleared including flooring etc. They were correct concerning the backing up! Within two days the basement floor drain and basement bathroom were backing up too (previously they were working normally)I called Jaytech and within a hour Shaun arrived. He snaked our drain well past the 32 foot area and also removed the inspection cover at 40 foot where our drain exits the basement. He ensured he could observe the snake there as it cleared the home's drain of the blockage and entered the exit pipe under our front lawn. He had us flush all toilets at once and ensured the waste water flowed in a torrent past the exit. It appears that the previous high cost company stopped short of clearing the obstruction and pushed the blockage farther down the line to block the main drain exit.Jaytech charged a very modest amount for their professional service. They will be my go-to plumbers for our family's other homes.
Quality work from Mike and his colleagues. I emailed them about the failure of my water tank 11pm. Mike phoned me 8am the next day and his team visited the tank within half and hour. We then quickly scheduled an appointment two days later. They replaced the tank swiftly in two hours. The system is working flawlessly.
We recently had a hot water heater that turned into a $13,000 project that involved seven contractors, three city departments and a couple of utilities. The only part of the experience that I liked was Jaytech Plumbing. You know the first thing I need in a contractor? Someone who will answer the phone! We actually lined up two plumbers to do the work who then wouldnt reply to phone calls or emails for months. At the eleventh hour I was recommended Jaytech. Tom was at our house within a couple of hours. Now I dont want to set unreasonable service expectations for them, but every time Ive reached out Tom has gotten back to me quickly and on three occasions has showed up at my house to help sort things out for me. Now lets talk about expertise. Throughout this debacle my man T (yeah I call him T now) is the only person who has had a clue about anything! Helped me navigate the city, permits, found solutions that were smarter and more cost efficient. The only person in the whole process that seemed interested in solving our problems. I wont leave out the important bit. The price. Of the three prices we got Jaytech was the middle price... but the guy with the lowest price never returned any of my calls or emails, and neither did the expensive guy! Heres the kicker, and again I dont want to set unreasonable expectations but in a project where one contractor presented a bill that was twice the quote and another an invoice of over nine thousand dollars on a quote of three Jaytech presented an invoice that was actually a little cheaper than the quote, less than a couple hundred dollars but still. Look, Im a trades person. There are lots of times when you get into a project and things get complicated. I understand that things can legitimately cost more, so Im not saying that Jaytech will bill you less than the quote it might indeed cost more, but I can say that throughout this fiasco they are the only people I walked away trusting and I would not hesitate to recommend the company. Thanks to Jaytech.
I found dealing with Jaytech straightforward and fair. I had dubious and vague quotes from others but Jaytech gave me a fair price and stuck by it. Mike did an excellent job replacing the main water valve and installing the new water softener. Will definitely deal with them again.
