I recently visited this store and unfortunately had an unpleasant experience with one of the cashiers. The Afghan cashier (female) spoke to us in a rude and dismissive manner, showing no courtesy or friendliness. She also asked where we were from in a tone that felt inappropriate and unwelcoming. Additionally, she commented on our purchase, which I found unprofessional. As a British customer, I believe everyone should be treated with respect regardless of background. I hope the management addresses this behavior to ensure all customers feel comfortable and welcome in the store
Store is always clean, and service is friendly and quick. Shoutout to two particular associates that are both kind, helpful and efficient - Tanya & Krutika <3. Min/Max ordering & fill systems could be a little better, especially with respect to some Coke product availability (XXX Vitamin Water, I'm looking at you).
Hey most short stop are good but the one on Willow Rd and Dawson Rd is is great especially when referring to Matt this person is a wonderful & knowledgeable employee who goes about and beyond and they should be promoted if not already and given a raise on top of being a trainer for any new employee or currant! Very cool person very helpful, positive and definitely sets a golden standard that anyone would benefit to learn from! Please make sure his potential is recognized if anyone in the (Little Short Stop) business gets to read this review l, thank you!
This is my favourite Short Stop in Guelph (actually my favourite convenience store for that matter). The staff are always so pleasant and kind. Sharifa always has a beautiful and welcoming smile and extremely polite. Matt has great energy and makes the vibe such a pleasant experience. He’s always looking by out for the neighbourhood folks and takes care of us. He makes the extra step that he really doesn’t have to. Matt is the type of guy to put customers first and worry about himself later. Tonight he did me a solid and ensured that my experience was a great one. I went home and had a great night. It’s the little things that can make such a huge difference in another person’s life. Matt is probably not aware of this, but he always provides a pleasant experience for his customers, going above and beyond to ensure the service is at its best quality. I don’t even think he does it just to provide a service but it is the type of guy he is. Thank you so much!
Nice convivence store. I have been going here for years. -Open 24/7 365, even Christmas and new years. Late night the door is locked, but the employee will buzz you in from the counter, and there is a door bell to call them if they are not at the counter. -the parking lot can get busy at times, but its never completely full. -Large selection of items, when missing something for cooking i can often find it here. also pet food, gift cards, phone chargers, beer, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene supplies, and lots more. -They have weekly or monthly sales on things, and sometimes you get lucky with a item that is priced wrong at huge discount. -They have a new automatic lotto machine, a ATM, some bitcoin machine, they sell TV bingo tickets, lotto tickets including holiday packs of scratch cards. -They also have fresh brewed coffee, hot chocolate drinks. slushies in summer. -The workers generally say hello when you enter, except when they are busy or lots of people are coming in, which is totally understandable. Saying hello is not required for me personally, but its a nice touch. -The area in general is a lower income area, so the customers can be really... eccentric sometimes. one time i was there late night and there was 20+ people and some were yelling that there was people stealing stuff, and the poor worker has to deal with that kind of stuff all the time. They do have a rule to have no hoods up, maybe because of a thief problem. -There is a funny issue with this store, that for some reason people cannot resist driving their car into the front door. at least 3 times, maybe 4, in the last 15 years they have to repair the store front and door because someone drove their car over the sidewalk into the store.
EXTREMELY RUDE PEOPLE WORKING here! Old lady working here is utmost rude to every other person except than specific community people. She was talking very politely and nicely to those people but behaved extremely pathetic towards other people. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO VISIT THIS PLACE AT ALL!
They seem extremely racist and made me very uncomfortable and angry. There were 2 Hispanic men in the store while I was looking for something to drink. Two ladies were following them around like hawks when they were only trying to decide what they wanted. Waiting in line there was a white lady infront of them, which the cashier was extremely nice to. The moment the Hispanic men got to the counter, she was scowling at them and being extremely rude. They were trying to be as polite as they could she didn't even care. They told her to "have a wonderful day", and she scoffed at them. I will NEVER go back to this place, if I do, I'm giving those women a piece of my mind. (April 14th 12-1pm) The only good thing about this place is all of the different items they had. I wanted to make a bigger purchase until I noticed their atrocious behavior. If it wasn't for the fact I was really thirsty and doing my taxes next door, I wouldn't have purchased a thing.
