I recently visited A&E Market Deli and I was absolutely impressed. From the moment I walked in, the staff stood out. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and ready to help. Their recommendations made picking from the menu so easy and enjoyable. The food was fantastic: fresh, flavorful and satisfying. There was a wonderful variety from sandwiches to imported deli meats and European-style offerings so there’s truly something for everyone. I also appreciated how clean and tidy the space was: tables, counters, and products all looked well-organized, making the experience feel both inviting and comfortable. Overall — a big thumbs up ?. Great people, great food, plenty of variety, and a spotless setting. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch deli!
Very cute shop, its size is deceiving from outside. There is a bit of parking in the back, on the day we went, it had rained quite a bit that morning, the back lot had very large puddles and a lot of mud. We saw people parking next door in the paved lot, but it doesn’t belong to the A&E Market. ??♀️ We got a meal to take home; A cabbage roll, mashed potatoes, and two salads. As a meal, it was a good deal, there was a lot of food in our containers, but on their own, each cabbage roll is $9, might be too much for some. The cabbage were cooked to perfection, they were easy to break apart and tasted yummy. We love the look of their grocery store, it’s nice to check out and try staple foods that may not have been part of our upbringing. They also have a quaint dining area if you wish to eat your meal there.
A&E is our go-to deli in Guelph. Lovely meats, friendly staff and the sweets are delicious Polish/European style cakes. Lovely to have a place in town rather than having to go to Kitchener for European-style goodies.
What a beautiful little gem! So pretty inside and it smells divine when you walk in! I don’t even want to mention the sourdough bread….. but oh my goodness!!! I hope they NEVER change that recipe because I haven’t had such beautiful bread ever ! Shhhhh but run! Get a loaf! Fantastic treasure of a place go visit!
Overall, this is a beautiful store offering a wonderful variety of Eastern European foods along with a hot food and cold salad counter. Pricing is very fair considering everything is imported, but I will continue to make the drive to Italo Foods or Euro Foods in Kitchener, or Vincenzo’s in Waterloo. I ordered 1 mild Csabai sausage and was given a spicy one instead. I did not notice until I tried eating it at home. It was borderline too spicy for my tolerance and gave me a stomach ache. I ordered a paczki and a danish - after getting home, I realized I did not get the danish (I don’t think I was charged for it). The paczki was advertised upfront in the display case as 1 day old, but as a big European man who has consumed too many paczki in his lifetime, I genuinely believe it was older than that. The dough was no longer squishy (it was pretty stale), the powdered sugar was no longer white, and was clear/runny instead, and the custard filling tasted artificial - there was hardly any in there in the first place.
I love this place so much! Such incredible fresh hot table food (authentic!!) and the sour dough bread is to die for. The staff are all so sweet and kind. The best place to pickup dinner for the family or go in for lunch. Such a great place for Guelph
Absolutely delighted to have discovered and visited this beautiful, well stocked shop. Reminds me of Toronto's Coffee Mill, a Yorkville cafe and dessert barI treasured since my aunt took me there for special occasions from an early age. Staff are knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. It will become one of our regular specialty shops and eateries.
